Osplex Information

In an effort for Man or Astro-Man? to approach all endeavors with their inception here in the elaborate catacombs of Astro Research Laboratories, we have a new plan for the very inorganic process of live show promotion.

This is the Man or Astro-Man? On-Site Promotion [localized experiment].
OSPlex for the sake of convenience and memory limitation.

Truly nothing sucks more than showing up to a club after a nine hour drive through the Great Plains for a show where you would have to hire a private investigator in order to find out if your band is actually playing there. How many times have we shown up at a venue and found a literal wad of Astro posters underneath the bar with a broken dusty staple gun on top of them. Actually, 513 times if you're keeping score.

What we want to do is turn such a vital task over into the hands of the loyal. Really all this involves is putting up posters and getting on the horn to let everyone know about the show. OSPlex is an experment that one dedicated member of a localized Astro research team can feel like, " Yes, I can die know and I know I did something with my life".

Unfortunatley due to the remarkable gravity of partaking in OSPlex, only one member per city is needed for our upcoming tours, and because we are an equal species employer, it really has to work on a first come, first serve basis. Close has never counted when Man or Astro-Man? plays horese shoes.

So how does it work, and what the hell do I get? Well you get a free advance copy of the new "Spectrum of Infinte Scale" record as well a free copy of the tour only CD, "Spectrum of Finite Scale", plus two spots on the Astro- guest list for the show. The Ginsu knives didn't come in time for all this. Now for what you have to do.

Order of event sequence:


A. Click here... to see if your city currently has an Osplex Agent, or has an opening.

B. If your city is in need of an Agent, decide if you are really dedicated and have time enough to help us promote the shows.

C. Email us at: osplex@astroman.com . The OSPlex packages will actually be coming from Touch and Go.

D. You will then receive a package with your free "Infinite" CD { the Finite will have to be given to you at the show}, a stack of posters, and some flyers, and a flyer master.

E. Go put them up in legal places to post bills in a non-annoying manner. College radio stations, indie record stores, cafes, university bulletin boards- wherever other bands in your town hang up flyers. It's really important to be polite and courteous as, in a way, you are representing our band. Please don't work against or detract from the promotion the club is already doing.

F. Come to the show and have a good time.
